Padauk Dining Table

One-of-a-kind Dining Table made from one half of a huge set of amazing Padauk boards I came across.  Cut to size and edge glued to make a 56×32 dinette table.  The base is made from hard maple for the legs and aprons and dyed with GF Black Gel Stain.  The aprons are inset 1/4” from the legs and the legs have a gradual taper the length of the legs. Padauk’s amazing natural orangish-red can fade over time so I wiped the table down with acetone and sprayed 3 coats of dewaxed Shellac as a first layer, and sprayed 3 more coats of Polyurethane as a final topcoat to try to help keep the color and provide a bit of UV protection.

Dimensions: 56.5" Long x 32" Wide x 30" Tall

Materials: Padauk, Hard Maple

Finish: GF Gel Stain (Black), Shellac, GF High Performance Polyurethane (Satin)
