Awesome Coffee Table made from Padauk and Cherry. I sourced a set of huge Padauk boards, over 11 feet long and made two tables from the wood. A dining table and this coffee table. I wanted to pair the unique vibrant orange-red of the Padauk and with something that could compliment it. I decided on Cherry wood as it’s a lighter color wood, but has a reddish-brown hue that I thought would work well. I cut all the wood to size and edge glued the Padauk to final dimensions of 45” × 23'“.  The base is made from the Cherry with a 1/4” inset from the legs. The table is finished in a first layer of 3 coats of dewaxed Shellac, and a topcoat of Polyurethane.
