Ash Nightstands

A pair of Nightstands made from Ash hardwood for a small guest room. The room size and purpose heavily influenced the design of the nightstands. They are meant to be simple and open so they don’t appear big and bulky in the room. Guests rarely use drawers so the middle shelf was left open as a functional area to place items without the need for a drawer. The build consists of 3 panels, the top, middle shelf and lower shelf. All spanning 4 straight grain legs with a taper starting just below the lower shelf. The side panels for the middle shelf enclosure is inset over an inch for a more dramatic look. Ash is a beautiful and strong wood so I used a subtle bourbon color stain to even out the color of the wood while retaining all the character of the natural grain patterns

Materials: White Ash

Finish: Bourbon Rubio Monocoat, General Finishes High Performance Satin Polyurethane
