Built a custom rolling barn door, using a 3/4″ sheet of Red Oak Plywood and gluing strips of 1/4″ & 1/2″ Red Oak boards. Leaving the plywood sheet full size, the strips were glued in a varying pattern of length and depth to make an random multi-tiered surface. Once the strips were in place, the whole door was cut to exact size. It was stained and finished with polyurethane. The rolling door hardware was installed and despite the door being quite heavy, it rolls extremely smoothly.
